Qualifiers.

Regional qualifiers, district titles, school records - the
Troy Trojans collected a little of everything Friday night.
And they're after much, much more.

TENNIS | Success
at D1 Sectionals.
05.12.2012 Troy senior Reid Wynkoop celebrated his
second straight sectional championship. Luke Oaks collected
what he hopes will be the first of many.

| All-Stars Shine at GWOC.
05.12.2012 The Troy boys track team just wanted to break
through. As for Ashley Rector, she wanted to break
records.

| Trojans Clean Up at GWOC.
05.09.2012 Prior to the Troy girls winning the Greater
Western Ohio Conference North Division title last year, the
Trojan girls had been on a five-year drought. However,
this time around the Troy girls were the clear-cut favorite
in the GWOC North crown - but they also had their eyes on a
bigger prize.

| Troy wins first Title since 1991,
Beats Piqua. 05.02.2012 Twenty-one years. And
one extra day. The last time Troy's baseball team had
accomplished the feat, in fact, none of its current players
had been born. After all of that time, the Troy
Trojans found out some things are worth waiting for.

Shining Moment.
05.05.2012 Some played for revenge. Or merely to
prove themselves. Or even to prepare for what's to
come next week. No matter the personal motivation,
though, every Troy Trojan got his moment in the sun - once
it came out, at least.

| Girls Crush Firebirds. 05.04.2012
The Troy Trojan girls had one last regular-season hurrah
before next week's Greater Western Ohio Conference meet,
while the boys have one more week to get healthy and prepare
for what it will face there. The girls obliterated the
competition at the two-day Fairmont Firebird Invitational,
winning with 115.5 points even though the meet was rained
out with three events left. The boys, on the other hand,
were fourth with 56 points, a mere nine behind GWOC North
rival and runner-up Butler.

SOFTBALL
| Not Good Enough. 05.02.2012
Troy's defense was good.
Amber Smith's pitching performance was solid. But when
it came to scoring runs, the Trojans did not succeed,
stranding 10 baserunners in a 3-1 loss to Piqua on
Wednesday's Senior Night at Market Street Diamond in Troy.

| Girls too Busy Taking 5th to Collect
Tropies. 04.27.2012 Ashley Rector didn't get
to celebrate for long after placing third in the girls
triple jump at the Wayne Invitational on Friday, having to
step off the podium midway through to prepare for the 400.

Troy loses to Princeton.
04.28.2012 CINCINNATI - Princeton got the better of Troy
Saturday at the OCTA Tournament in Cincinnati, winning by a
count of 4-1.

04.27.2012 DAYTON - Troy bounced back from a loss to Butler
the previous day, knocking off Chaminade Julienne 4-1
Friday.

| Troy Keeps Rolling, Tops Miamisburg. 04.26.2012
MIAMISBURG - Troy followed up an impressive come-from-behind
win over a tough Springboro team the previous day by picking
up even more steam, getting solid pitching and defense and
one big inning in a 5-1 victory over Miamisburg Friday.

Butler Knocks Off Troy.
04.26.2012 VANDALIA - Thursday's matchup between Troy and
Butler was destined to decide the Greater Western Ohio
Conference North Division champion. But a title for
the Trojans doesn't appear to be in the cards now.

| Troy Rallies Past Springboro. 04.26.2012
Payback from a tournament loss last season. A signature win
against one of the area's best teams - and in exciting
fashion. Of all the things Troy earned Thursday, one
was more important than all Momentum.

TROTWOOD - Troy has a lot on its plate in the next week.
But even with the potential distractions, the Trojans kept
their minds on the business at hand Tuesday - and took care
of it. 
SOFTBALL
| Troy routs Trotwood, Twice. 04.24.2012
TROTWOOD - All it took was one inning. Well, maybe
two. But the Troy Trojans (7-13, 5-3 Greater Western
Ohio Conference North Division) kept the heat on for all
five innings Tuesday, jumping out to a 15-0 lead after two
and winning 20-1 at Trotwood in division play.

| Troy Swept by State Ranked
Centerville. 04.21.2012 The Centerville Elks
have been bull-rushing through competition this season.
Ranked No. 8 in Division I, the Elks' only loss was an 8-5
setback to Hamilton on April 7. On Saturday, Centerville
came to Troy boasting a 15-1 record - including 6-0 in the
Greater Western Ohio Conference Central Division - in hopes
of nailing down wins 16 and 17.

| Wayne Drops Troy. 04.20.2012
Kicking off the festivities of Friday night's game between
Troy and Wayne at Market Street Diamond was the singing of
the National Anthem by former Troy JV softball coach - and
Elvis impersonator - Ryan Roth. But 'The King'
couldn't stop what was about to happen at the First Annual
Troy Cancer Awareness game.

BASEBALL
| Troy Errors Costly in Bellefontaine
Loss.
04.20.2012 BELLEFONTAINE - Troy wasn't itself on Friday.
And the score reflected that in a 5-0 loss to Bellefontaine.
The Trojans committed four errors and had just one hit at
the plate in the losing effort. Cody Fuller took the loss on
the mound.

| Eight in a Row.
04.20.2012 KETTERING - The Troy Trojans made it eight
straight victories Friday, cruising to a 5-0 shutout at
Fairmont. At first singles, Luke Oaks defeated Ian
Steiner 6-1, 6-1. At second singles, Reid Wynkoop defeated
Adam Wolfe 6-1, 6-2. At third singles, Sean Cothran defeated
Nate Bare 6-0, 6-2.

SOFTBALL
| Blue Devils top Trojans in Slugfest. 04.19.2012
BROOKVILLE - Troy pounded out 10 hits and had a seven-run
second inning. And it still wasn't enough.
Because Brookville hit a pair of home runs and racked up 18
hits, beating the Trojans 13-10 in a slugfest at Brookville
Thursday.

| Seven Straight.
04.19.2012 TROY - The seventh straight win for the
Trojans was arguably the most important. Troy cruised
to its seventh straight victory on Thursday, opening the
Greater Western Ohio Conference North Division portion of
its schedule with a 5-0 victory over Trotwood at home.
